The #1 Secret business owners need to know to find clients

The #1 secret that's holding you back from finding clients. See more at tracylynncoaching.com

I spend a lot of time on Instagram, and my DM’s are full of virtual assistants, photographers, social media managers, graphic designers, copywriters, and more telling me that they’re struggling to find clients.

So let’s talk about how you can create a strategy to not only find clients, but find the RIGHT clients.  By the way, this secret has everything to do with the RIGHT clients, and it’s most likely something you know but aren’t sure exactly how to implement.

I made this mistake, too.

If you’re making this mistake, please don’t feel bad about it.   First of all, you aren’t alone. And second of all, I struggled with exactly this issue for far longer than I care to admit.

But that’s exactly why I’m talking about this… I don’t want the same thing to happen to you.  Instead, I want you to see what you’re doing, get unstuck, and make shit happen in your own business faster than I could ever have dreamed.

The #1 secret business owners need to know to find clients is…

Drum roll please…

You have to KNOW who the right clients for your business are. That’s something I bet you think you know and maybe even think you’re implementing.  When you take a step back though, you realize you definitely aren’t marketing directly to your ideal client.

A lot of business owners THINK they struggle to find clients.  They do the work, put themselves out there on all the platforms. I mean they really put in the work to bring in clients… and all they hear is crickets.

I get why they do all of this work, honestly.  All the marketing gurus say you have to be on all platforms, cold DM potential clients, really “show up” for your audience.

…But is the audience you have the right audience for your business?

Is this audience full of your ideal client?  Have you truly attracted the right audience yet?

Let’s take my photography business for example.

I serve brides in the St. Louis area who are looking for a boudoir album as a wedding day gift for their future husband.

This woman is not just any woman. I want to serve is a super specific woman. I know what she wears, where she shops, what purse she carries, what she does as a career, and even what her fiancé does.

Most of my clients love soft, neutral colors and they want a timeless and classy boudoir session.  They appreciate beautiful light, well placed shadows, and flawless posing.  They appreciate the art.

If that’s the type of session they want and are attracted to, wouldn’t it be a mistake for me to create a marketing plan with bright colors and more risqué photos?

That’s not going to attract the clients I want to serve.

So instead, I built a marketing plan that would showcase what attracts my ideal client.

All of my guides and references on my website, email list, Instagram, Facebook, and even my referral program centers around is what to wear for a classy and timeless boudoir session or how to prep for a session to get that look.

I want you to do some research.

Think about who your ideal client is.  Consider the clients who you really loved serving.  Call them up and chat with them so you can figure out why you truly loved working with them.

Then, create a marketing strategy to draw more of those clients in.  Turn your audience into an audience FULL of your ideal client.

Don’t just hang out on social media, though.

Create a marketing funnel that will take then from exposure to client to referral.

Does that mean you need a website, blog, and email list? Great.  Now you know what you need to work on.

Do you need to fix your website SEO so you show up in a search? Awesome, let’s fix it.

To find clients, it’s all in the marketing strategy.

Now, that you know that one secret that’s holding you back from finding the right clients, you can build a marketing strategy to draw those clients in like flies, so you can get back to doing more of what you love.

Need help?

If you’re sick of trying to figure this out on your own, or you want to talk about where you are right now and how to get to the point where you’re booking the right clients all the time, I’d love to help you work through this.
